Las políticas de lo público en el arte

Abstract

El presente trabajo analiza cómo el valor otorgado a «lo público» en el ámbito del arte esconde, en gran medida, otros factores fundamentales que no tienen por qué corresponderse. En primer lugar, mediante «lo público» se consigue la legitimación de los gestores de lo público, que se erigen en garantes del patrimonio. En segundo lugar, el artista se ve condicionado por esa conceptualización. En tercer y último lugar, «lo público» también influye, en consecuencia, en la propia obra de arte.

This work analyses how the value conferred to «the public sphere» in the field of art hides, to a great extent, other fundamental factors that do not necessarily have to match. In the first place, through «the public sphere», public agents that are set up as guarantors of heritage are legitimised. Secondly, the artist is conditioned by this conceptualization. Thirdly, and finally, the «public sphere» consequently has an influence on the work of art itself.
