Abstract

De la lectura de diversos textos, entre ellos, de la propia revista mallorquina La Antorcha se puede establecer con precisión la fecha exacta de cada una de sus entregas al público, cosa que hasta el momento no se había llevado a cabo. De igual modo, atendiendo a otras fuentes periodísticas nos es dado conocer, por vez primera también, el nombre del autor de tal proyecto: el abogado liberal Joaquín Pérez de Arrieta, y de cómo por misteriosas razones que se nos escapan fue durante un período de tiempo enmascarado su nombre por sus adversarios políticos, hasta que finalmente, unos cuantos meses después, ellos mismos lo terminaron desvelando bien a las claras. En ese contexto, aprovechamos, de paso, para emparejar a dicho individuo de la facción reformadora palmesana con otros varios papeles periódicos de idéntico perfil ideológico, aflorados en la capital balear durante los años finales de la guerra contra el francés..
