Intertextualidad y fragmentariedad en The Waste Land de T. S. Eliot y The Cantos de Ezra Pound: Análisis comparativo del uso de la cita y la alusión

Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza la intertextualidad en la obra de dos de los mayores poetas del siglo XX en lengua inglesa, T. S. Eliot y Ezra Pound, que se revela como elemento clave para su comprensión. Veremos también como la intertextualidad otorga al poema un carácter fragmentario, siguiendo los preceptos del Modernismo literario, del que Eliot y Pound son dos de sus máximos referentes.

In this essay I analyze the intertextual relationship of two of the main poets in English in the 20th century: T. S. Eliot and Ezra Pound. This intertextuality will reveal itself as one of the key elements for the poems' comprehension. I will also analyze how intertextuality fragments the poem, following the precepts of Literary Modernism, of which Eliot and Pound are two of its main figures.
