Comparative evaluation of template-systems for requirements documentation

Abstract

This thesis deals with the evaluation of different template-systems for requirements specification. The selection of the right template-system influences the success of any software project. As a first step, a theoretical evaluation was conducted to analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the template-systems. Second, in order to assist in the requirements documentation, a user interface for template-systems was implemented. Finally, the comparative evaluation was supported through an experiment performed with industrial profes- sionals and students. The results suggest that template-systems are a good improvement for requirements specification and MASTeR would be the more suitable one.

Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit umfasst die Auswertung verschiedener Template-Systeme für die Anforderungsdokumentation. Die Auswahl der richtigen Template-Systeme beeinflusst den Erfolg jedes Softwareprojektes. Zunächst wurde eine theoretische Evaluation durchgeführt, um die Stärken und Schwächen der Template-Systeme zu analysieren. Um an der Anforderungsdokumentation mitwirken zu können, wurde anschließend eine Benutzeroberfläche für Template-Systeme implementiert. Die vergleichende Evaluation wurde schlussendlich von einem Experiment begleitet, welches mithilfe von Industriefachpersonal und Studenten durchgeführt wurde. Die Ergebnisse weisen darauf hin, dass Template-Systeme eine gute Verbesserungsstrategie f¨ur die Anforderungsdokumentation sind und MASTeR das passendere darstellt.
