The present Master's thesis is a review of the main techniques related to the analysis and statistical treatment for functional data. As an introduction, we will begin with the current state of the art in the field of functional statistics, challenges, problems and new approaches. Within the main advanced methods, we will emphasize the tools of dimension reduction, especially in the principal funcional componente analysis (ACPF) and the reconstruction of curves using linear models. Next, we will develop different detection techniques for functional outliers, and finally we will study several methods of classification for curves or "functional cluster analysis", in which the algorithm of K-means will have great prominence Each and every one of the concepts are accompanied by examples of real data sets, in order to proof their strengths and limitations. For this purpose we have used different R software packages whose code can be consulted in the appendix.en_US
