Políticas de memoria para una nueva hegemonía cultural basada en el respeto por los derechos humanos.

Abstract

Luego de 30 años de finalizada la dictadura militar-civil chilena, desde el 18 de octubre de 2019 Chile enfrenta una de las crisis de derechos humanos más grave de los últimos años. Las masivas movilizaciones sociales iniciadas ese mes han sido respondidas por el Estado con sistemáticas violaciones a los derechos humanos contra manifestantes. En este con texto me pregunto por el rol de las políticas de memoria sobre el pasado dictatorial, en la construcción de una hegemonía cultural capaz de promover y consolidar un compromiso con los derechos humanos, teniendo como primera tarea la de evitar la reproducción y proyección pública de memorias que atentan contra esas garantías fundamentales.

After 30 years of the end of the Chilean military dictatorship, since October 18, 2019, Chile has faced one of the most serious Human Rights crises in recent years. The massive social mobilizations that began that month have been responded to the Government with systematic Human Rights violations against protesters. In this context, I introduce the role of memory policies on the dictatorial past, in the construction of a cultural hegemony capable of promoting and consolidating a commitment to Human Rights, having as its fi rst task to avoid the reproduction and public projection of memories that vulnerate these fundamental rights.
