Evolución del paisaje en la península de Matagorda en época contemporánea

Abstract

La Península de Matagorda, porción de tierra delimitada por la Cortadura al Este, el Caño del Trocadero al Sur, el Río San Pedro al Norte y la Bahía de Cádiz al Oeste es un enclave en el que se desarrollaron, desde la antigüedad, dos actividades que dejaron una huella indeleble en la memoria colectiva de Puerto Real: Las salinas y los astilleros. La manera en que ha evolucionado este paisaje que marca de manera profunda el sentimiento identitario de este pueblo es lo que trataremos de desarrollar en el presente trabajo.

The Matagorda Peninsula, a portion of land bounded by the Cortadura to the East, the Caño del Trocadero to the South, the San Pedro River to the North and the Bay of Cadiz to the West is an enclave in which, since ancient times, two activities were developed that left an indelible mark on the collective memory of Puerto Real: The salt flats and the shipyards. How this landscape has evolved that deeply marks the identity of this people is what we will try to develop in the present work.
