About the Case Law of the European Court of Human Rights Regarding Unaccompanied Children

Abstract

The institutions and bodies of the Council of Europe have assumed an increasing active role with regard to the situation of unaccompanied children on the move. The European Court of Human Rights is progressively adopting a key protective position particularly when assessing through its rulings if detentions of unaccompanied children are to be considered as a violation of their fundamental rights.
