Abstract

En los últimos años se ha incrementado la presencia del crimen organizado en muchos ámbitos de nuestras sociedades, mostrando una mayor facultad de diversificación en sus actividades. En las dos últimas décadas, estas organizaciones delictivas han creado estructuras más complejas, extendiendo sus actividades transfronterizas a nuevas modalidades delictivas. El tráfico de medicamentos es una de las actividades delictivas que, junto al tráfico de drogas, produce una mayor cantidad de ingresos ilícitos. Existe una lucha internacional para combatir una actividad que pone en peligro la salud pública colectiva y perjudica la confianza de los ciudadanos en los productos farmacológicos. La alta rentabilidad de este tipo de tráfico y la necesidad de poca estructura e inversión, hacen que la actividad sea eficiente y atraiga la actividad de grupos delictivos. La persecución de estos delitos es muy compleja, pues intervienen en la cadena de suministro múltiples elementos propios y ajenos a las organizaciones. Internet ha facilitado las transacciones ilegales de medicamentos, creándose un mercado paralelo que mueve miles de millones en todo el mundo. Actualmente, es básica la colaboración y cooperación internacional entre autoridades, instituciones, policías y órganos judiciales.

In the last two decades, these criminal organizations have created more complex structures and with their cross-border activities they have embraced new criminal modalities. Drug trafficking is one of the criminal activities that, together with the trafficking of psychotropic substances, produces a greater amount of income for these international organizations. Thereis an international fight to combat an activity that endangers public health and harms the confidence of citizens around the planet in pharmaceutical products. The high profitability of this type of traffic and the need for little structure and investmentmake the activity very efficient and criminal groups are attracted to this criminal modality. The prosecution of these crimes is very complex because many elements are involved in the supply chain, both internal and external to the organizations themselves. The Internet has facilitated transactions in fake or unwarranted medicines, creating a parallel and illegal market that moves billions around the world. International collaboration and cooperation between authorities, institutions, police and judicial bodies has become essential.
