Abstract

The canons of beauty as a social construct have been the subject of debate, especially insofar as they have put pressure on women, who are widely subjected to unattainable standards and bodies considered perfect. Body Positive as a philosophy is born to break these precepts and finds in social networks a vehicle to spread in society. Brands, aware of the depth of these messages, have not failed to join these movements, designing campaigns that revolved around this movement. In this research, an approach to the transmission of messages of the Body Positive philosophy in the campaigns of the sports brand Nike is carried out in order to observe the treatment of women, their bodies and their messages. Based on a mixed methodology, with a quantitative and qualitative content analysis, an important social reach is observed, as well as a good integration with the brand's values. It also shows the link between the movement and the female world and the need to continue working on the diversity of bodies at all levels.
