The purpose of this research is to design, validate, and pilot a questionnaire to measure beliefs,
attitudes, and knowledge about sexual and gender diversity (CAFDISEG questionnaire). The
methodological process was structured in three consecutive phases. Initially, a theoretical review
of 51 studies using similar instruments was conducted to identify dimensions and quality criteria
applicable to the new questionnaire. Subsequently, the initial instrument was constructed and
evaluated by experts in methodology and sexual and gender diversity, leading to the refinement of
the preliminary version, reducing it from 89 to 84 items. This process yielded an Aiken validity
coefficient of 0.918 with 95% confidence intervals, confirming the relevance of the items. The
questionnaire was organized into three dimensions (knowledge, beliefs, and attitudes) and uses
two response formats: 21qºmultiple choice and a four-point Likert scale, applying an exploratory
factor analysis. Finally, the instrument underwent a pilot test with 160 Education and Social
Sciences students from the University of Huelva to verify its applicability and internal consistency
before its final implementation. Statistical analysis using SPSS v29 demonstrated high reliability,
with a Cronbach's alpha of .945 and a test-retest reliability coefficient of .916. The results support
the usefulness of the CAFDISEG as a diagnostic tool for educational guidance, allowing for the
identification of conceptions and attitudes regarding gender and sexual diversity and informing the
development of training programs that promote inclusive practices, teacher awareness, and sexual
justice.
