El contexto: su naturaleza y su papel en el proceso de interpretación de enunciados

Abstract

Although many recent studies point out the importance of context in the process of utterance interpretation, a theoretical framework is not easily found in linguistics which accounts for the role of context in the interpretation of utterances. This paper sets out to revise different approaches to the notion of context, with the broader claim being that Relevance Theory stands a better chance of providing a psychologically sound explanation of the role of context in utterance interpretation.
