¿Se ha parado a pensar el papel que ha desempeñado la publicidad en los siglos pasados? Con esto, el presente trabajo
es un ejercicio para conocer un poco la labor persuasiva de los llamados productos milagrosos en la prensa gaditana
en el inicio del siglo XIX. Un ejercicio para dar a conocer la singularidad del ayer y cómo podríamos encontrar
ciertas similitudes en el presente. Y, en este sentido, las ilustraciones ejercerán un papel aclarador invitándonos a
imaginar cómo fue aquel entonces; donde cohabitaban desde auténticos médicos a sanitarios auxiliares, pasando
por curanderos o falsos profesionales. Medicamentos/polifármacos (ungüentos, pociones, jarabes o infusiones) que
tenían una doble finalidad: curar y generar beneficios. Have you stopped to think about the role that advertising has played in the past centuries? With it, this work is
an exercise to learn a little about the persuasive work of the so-called miraculous products in the Cadiz press at
the beginning of the 19th century. An exercise to make known the uniqueness of yesterday and how we could
find certain similarities in the present. And, in this sense, the illustrations will play a clarifying role, inviting us
to imagine what it was like then; where they cohabited from real doctors to auxiliary toilets, to healers or false
professionals. Medicines/polypharmaceuticals (ointments, potions, syrups or infusions) that had a double purpose:
to cure and generate benefits.
