Adaptación española de la Escala de Interés en Estudiantes Universitarios. Estructura factorial, fiabilidad y validez

Abstract

El interés académico constituye una variable que incide en el proceso de aprendizaje del alumnado. Sin embargo, no se han encontrado instrumentos que midan el interés del alumnado universitario en el contexto español. Por ello, el objetivo de este estudio ha consistido en adaptar y validar al español la Escala de Interés en Estudiantes (Mazer, 2012). En la investigación han participado 447 estudiantes de los Grados de Educación Infantil y Primaria de la Universidad de Cádiz. Los resultados del análisis factorial confirmatorio apoyan tanto la estructura bifactorial propuesta en el modelo original como la solución unifactorial. Asimismo, la escala presenta una fiabilidad adecuada al obtener valores satisfactorios de alfa de Cronbach y omega de McDonald y evidencias de validez convergente con la motivación y satisfacción académica. Se concluye que la Escala de Interés en Estudiantes presenta adecuadas propiedades psicométricas para evaluar el interés académico del alumnado universitario en el aula.

Academic interest constitutes a variable that affects the learning process of students. However, no instruments have been found that measure the interest of university students in the Spanish context. Therefore, the objective of this study was to adapt and validate the Student Interest Scale (Mazer, 2012) into Spanish. Four hundred and forty-seven students from the Early Childhood and Primary Education Degrees at the University of Cádiz participated in the research. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis support both the bifactor structure proposed in the original model and the unifactor solution. Likewise, the scale presents adequate reliability by obtaining satisfactory values of Cronbach’s alpha and McDonald’s omega and evidence of convergent validity with motivation and academic satisfaction. It is concluded that the Student Interest Scale presents adequate psychometric properties to evaluate the academic interest of university students in the classroom.
