They say that it is difficult for people who are not from Cádiz to understand a
romancero. The linguistic register, as well as the unique way of speaking, perhaps make
it sound a little unusual to foreign ears. But in this case, the text takes on a French flavour
and is enhanced by the Cádiz accent. All in all, the aim of this document is to ensure that
aspects of the unique character of the Cádiz carnival are not forgotten. Entitled
‘Romancero: I swapped the Marseillaise for the Las Calesas slope’, it is a tribute brought
to life for enjoyment, curiosity and research. Irony and criticism, in two parts and suitable
for all audiences (adults).
