Human beings are part of biodiversity, hence the urgent need to change our practices and way of
relating to the different forms of life with which we live and share the territory to continue the existence of
life on Earth. Faced with this environmental challenge, this research proposes an ethnocultural procedure
structured in four phases and invariant actions as an educational tool aimed at searching for information
about the knowledge of experiences, behaviors, customs, beliefs, myths and legends related to the components of the biodiversity of the educational and community environment, to form a culture towards the
conservation of biodiversity in students at the Basic Secondary educational level, which contributes to the
integration of scientific and cultural knowledge. To do this, the interpretive paradigm was followed, based on the combination of various theoretical methods such as: analytical-synthetic, inductive-deductive
and the system approach; Likewise, as part of the empirical methods, the critical analysis of documents.
Finally, with the implementation of the procedure, its relevance and effectiveness is corroborated to provide the student with knowledge, habits, pro-environmental attitudes, skills, convictions, feelings, values,
behaviors and the reflective and self-regulated nature of their activity to preserve both the culture and the
biodiversity of its environmental reality.
