This article discusses the issues related to the teaching of Standard Arabic idioms in multilingual contexts,
taking as a case the French schools in Morocco. In this framework, the different taxonomies that have been developed
in this field will be studied to know what type of idioms should be brought to the classroom. Then, we will see how to
select and present them before memorizing and reusing them. Next, some common errors will be analyzed, taking into
account the particular features of these lexical units and the difficulties that delay their learning. Hence, we will need
to examine this issue from a translation approach, based on the theories of the teaching of second languages. This
procedure will allow us to know how to learn them in a practical and contextualized way in line with the functional,
grammatical and cultural aspects. This is achieved through identification, understanding, memorization and reuse
activities.
